Climate: Grows naturally in humid tropical lowland climates with average annual low temperatures of 20 to 23 °C, average annual high temperatures of 29 to 32 °C and annual rainfall of 2000 to 3000 mm.
Use: The heartwood has a reported density of 870 to 900 kilograms per cubic meter and has very high natural resistant to decay and rot as well as medium to high resistance to attack from termites. This puts it in the durable hardwood class, suitable for use in both indoor and outdoor construction.
