Description
This flowering shrub is native to tropical and subtropical America, with a natural range that covers a wide geographical area, extending from Central America to the Caribbean and South America.
Climate: It grows and flowers reliably in sub-humid to humid subtropical and lowland to mid-elevation tropical climates, generally in areas with average annual low temperatures from 12 to 25 °C, average annual high temperatures from 23 to 34 °C and annual rainfall of 500 to 4500 mm.
